Modem Products   Da-Tel Research Co. manufactures a full line of modems for telemetering systems and general use. The data rates range from 75 B/S to 14.4 kbps. This allows the data rates to be set to the needs of the system and frequency multiplexing may be used to reduce costs. Tone Telemetry Solutions   Tone Telemetry has been the anchor for the utility industry over the years. Da-Tel has been a leader in tone telemetry equipment for 30 years. We manufacture equipment for any type of application: point-to-point for status and analog values, multiplexing of multi-point analog values or status over single phone lines, bidirectional communications for status and control. All housed in various types of enclosures, wired, factory tested and delivered to you when you need it. Fiber Optic Telemetry   Fiber optic telemetering equipment is digital through out. Da-Tel Research Company offers single and multi channel analog and status point (and KYZ) telemetering over fiber.

Energy Management   In energy management equipment relay pulses are usually assigned a fixed number of kilowat-hours per pulse and the relay pulses are telemetered and processed to obtain the total energy used. As many meters do not have extra KYZ contacts Da-Tel contact multipliers can use the one existing set of contacts to drive all the contacts needed. Da-Tel supplies the following contact multipliers and a pulse totalizer unit. G-1994 1 KYZ input, 3 KYZ outputs, mercury wetted contacts. G-9894 1 KYZ input, 3 KYZ outputs, solid state relays. Metal Shop   When you need quality sheet metal work done right, there is no one better to call than Da-Tel Research Company. The relatively small dimensions associated with electronic equipment necessitate precision metal work. Da-Tel has developed an enviable sheet metal factory consisting of presses, shears, punches, etc. Our shop can accommodate sheet metal work up to 11 gauge and 2' x 4'. Send us your design, indicating required tolerances, and we will give you a competitive price on the specified quantity.

Refurbishment Program   Realizing that as a board ages it approaches the mean time to failure, we are looking into an alternative to costly repairs.   Our alternative would be to refurbish the existing board at a portion of the cost of a new board, with the refurbished board carrying a 1-year guarantee on all parts and labor.   Refurbishing would include replacing all semiconductors and electrolytic capacitors, not including single junctions. The board would then be cleaned and tested in the same manner as a new board.   The advantage to you, the customer, would be a practically new board with all of the high failure components replaced and a 1-year guarantee at a fraction of the cost of a new board. You would be assured of more reliable operation and an extended board life.   The advantage to Da-Tel would be fewer repairs and better customer satisfaction. When modules are sent to us at the present time for repair, we repair the immediate problem. The board is returned and may function fine for a time, but at some point another component is going to fail. By refurbishing the board we hope to be able to curb the accelerating rate of repair that is inevitable to each board.   This program is a recommendation only. If you would like to continue with troubleshooting and repair for each board we can do that, too. Our basic rate for repair work is $100 for the 1st hour and $70 per hour thereafter.
