G-7618 Dual Low Pass Filter

G-7618Dual Low Pass Filter

The G-7618 Dual Low Pass Filter consists of two five coil low pass filters mounted on one pc board. The G-7617 Low Pas Filter is mounted on the same pc board and consists of one five coil filter. These filters are used in speech plus tone applications in which the tone are above the voice signals. The use of low pass filter at the sending end prevents the voice channel from whistling out the tone channel. The use of a G-7617 Low Pass Filter at the receiving end prevents the data tones from being heard in the voice channel. The nominal 70 db. attenuation of these filters insures that the tone cannot be heard in the telephine handsets.

Line transformers and clipper, attenuation pads and front panel jacks are available as options. The front panel jacks are wired so that the tip of the jack plug picks up the filter and the ring picks up the telephone line. The sheild makes contact to the filter common.

Amplifiers are usually required in speech plus tone systems over telephone as the Bell System tariffs require that a type 3000 line be assigned to this application. This type of line has a 16 db. loss in it.
